SPOLERS MAYBE/PROBABLY

If you're like me and you like to read the 1-star reviews to balance out the 5-star, and you are reading the things about a woman falling in love with two men who happen to be best friends, two men who happen to be the most powerful men in the free world, about accidental incest, about a love triad which includes the love two men have for each other...then please realize that this set of books is the re-telling of King Arthur, his queen Guinevere, and knight Lancelot. The things that happen in this book are all part of that centuries old tale...albeit it fact or fiction.

This is part one a three-part series, and it ends on a cliff-hanger. As a stand-alone, I think it's the weakest of the three books, but it's necessary as a stepping stone to get to the next two books. On it's own, it's NOT a bad book, not at all; it's just as hot and dark as you'd hope from a Sierra Simone book.

Greer is a young woman, and through this book we get some sense of her thoughts and emotions, we understand her background and her life as a young adult, but there's not really much personality here beyond her fascination and yearning for these two men. We understand her motives, and we get to be her as we fall in love with these two men. It's hot, it's dirty, and it's fabulous.

Yes it's over the top that she sees Ash just one time for one hour and is completely devoted to him, and he her. Yes it's over the top that she runs into his best friend Embry after learning of Ash's upcoming marriage, and also falls in love with Embry almost as quickly and deeply. Yes it's unrealistic that she goes from being practically a virgin to being a full-fledged submissive, one who accepts all of the things that Ash wants from her. But my, what lucky coincidences. What a lucky girl.

Many others have mentioned that they would have loved her more if she had stood up for herself a little more, make Ash work a little harder, and I second those thoughts. I get that she's submissive, but still... It's not enough to dislike this book though, nor to take a single star away from it.

This is erotica, so there is a lot of 'action', and it's very bluntly worded. If you're squeamish or like your heated moments to be whispers of love and admiration, this is NOT for you. And, if you' have issues with same sex relationships, this is also not for you. I've never been interested in M/M relationships, I'm not against it in any way, it's just not my thing and I've never had any interest in reading more of it...but if Sierra Simone writes only M/M for the rest of her career, I'll read every bit of it.

SO, in conclusion: Yes this book has its weaknesses, yes there's a lot of astronomical coincidences (as in most romance novels), but if you like dark, honest, gritty, brutal, sublime love stories, then you're going to love this book.

But please, make sure you read at least the next book so you get a real sense of the importance of Greer's story.

American Queen New Camelot Book 1 edition by Sierra Simone Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

“If you can’t accept that, then say my name right now and we will step back and renegotiate our relationship. But if you are willing to submit to the fact that I will move f***** heaven and earth to keep you from harm, then say yes, Sir.”

Books in trilogy should be read in order
Book 1 American Queen
Book 2 Untitled
Book 3 Untitled

American Queen (book 1) is an unconventional epic love saga between the two most powerful men on earth and the woman who’d become their American Queen.

Recent college graduate and professor, Greer Galloway, Princess is political royalty. Orphaned and raised by her grandfather, the former Vice President she is well versed in politics. But she grew up somewhat isolated, immersed in her studies.

STEERING CLEAR OF BOYS ONLY TO ATTRACT THE MOST POWERFUL OF MEN!

Her first kiss went to the man who’d one day become President. Her virginity went to his best friend and Vice President. One man would become her husband and master!

BOTH MEN WOULD REPRESENT AN EXTRAORDINARY LOVE!

President, former Lieutenant and war hero, Maxen Ashley Colchester, Ash and his Vice President and military comrade Embry Moore, Prince have faced world crisis, war and political discord.

YET THE HARDEST BATTLE WILL COME FROM WITHIN, IMPURE DESIRES AND CONTROVERSIAL THOUGHTS!

Alternating between unfolding current events and flashbacks, this is the behind closed doors story about a sacred and unapologetic love that transcends time!

MAXEN ASHLEY COLCHESTER, Ash 36 years/President/Ex-Military/Black hair/Green eyes/Adopted.
Twelve words to describe Maxen Ashley Colchester, Ash Commanding, powerful, ruthless, devious, manipulative, focused, enigmatic, irresistible, honorable, unforgettable, heroic, and larger-than-life.

EMBRY MOORE, Prince 35 years/Vice President/Ex-Military/Dk brown hair/Lt blue eyes.
Twelwe words to describe Embry Moore, Prince Private, loyal, secretive, noble, brave, nurturing, conflicted, complex, reckless, intense, suave and aloof.

GREER GALLOWAY, Princess 26 years/Recent College grad/Professor/Blond hair/Gray eyes/Orphan.
Nine words to describe Greer Galloway, Princess Smart, naïve, impressionable, submissive, good-hearted, resilient, trusting, confused and strong.

American Queen, told from Greer’s POV, will be followed by books from Maxen and Embry’s POVs. It’s an unconventional and forbidden love triangle. Center stage a commanding, devious, secretive, conflicted yet ruthless Maxen Ashley Colchester.

A masterfully written tale of seduction, lust, sex, jealousy and love boosted by themes of political intrigue; power, greed, deceit, scandal and danger. It ends while recovering from an euphoric high leading right to book 2 for the continuation of their saga.

Brilliant! Spectacular! All-consuming! A love triangle like no other!

“The secret he keeps, the lies he tells.”

Would I recommend this series Yes.
Would I re-read this book Yes.
Would I read future books by this author Yes.

A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review.
This book should have a bold written warning of "SCALDING HOT!!!" I love everything about this book. A great book to me is one that keeps me glued to it's pages, mesmerized thus keeping me from taking a peek of the last pages, because this is what I do when the book becomes boring, mundane and ordinary. NOT THIS BOOK!!! So good! Very well written. Makes you feel. Love it. THE WORSE THING IS...having to wait for the sequel. I hate cliffhangers and this is why I stay away from serial books. I honestly felt conned but in a good way😊
