I'm not normally a huge fan of time travel romances but this one was dead on. I notice that several readers finished the book in one sitting. I wish that I could have done that but had to stop twice to recharge my Kindle. It's probably just as well. The first time my battery ran out I was shocked to realize that it was two in the morning. Clara McCallum is a modern day actress who has been cast in a movie about a town that lost eleven of it's sons on the beaches of Normandy. Somehow the period train that is a set piece for the show takes her back in time to 1941 where she meets and falls in love with the doomed young man that she is supposed to love in the movie. Due to her recent breast cancer diagnosis, Clara cannot stay in a past where modern treatments don't exist. But leaving Jed Landry means leaving her heart in 1941. Keep your tissues handy. This story will cause tears.

Okay people....I only give short reviews so don't base the number of words of my review for this book.

Love, Love this Time Travel book. I don't know if it's the WWII era or what, but the author writes in such a way that I'd want to go back to this time. She integrates the characters so well together. I've given the paperback to my sisters as gifts and they love the book, too.
The original idea of a storyline was very good, but unfortunately a couple of sections of the book were not thought through well enough which made the storyline flawed in sections. The ending was a tear jerky but very sweet. Overall, a fair read.
I enjoyed reading this book. You do have to sort of suspend your rational mind to get into the flow of the time travel narrative but overall her writing was superb in handling the time transitions. The World War II setting was good for me as I could relate well to this era. If you liked the 1980 movie "Somewhere in Time", with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, then you would probably enjoy this book. Pleasant reading.
Just finished this wonderful book my Wendy Markham, also known as Wendy Corsi Staub. It was an awesome story of time travel and love. That love can happen in the strangest of circumstances..
How two people who lived more than 60 years apart can meet and in a matter of days can fall deeply in love..The love of a lifetime and beyond..
Have read many of Wendy's books and this is definitely going to be 1 of my favorites..As i sit writing this review I still have the kleenex in my hand.
Am about to start the next part of this lovely series.. The Best Gift..
I don't read many time-travel books because it takes tremendous talent do them well. And that what this writer has because she did a marvelous job at it. I have thought -- for over 20 years now -- that the movie, "Somewhere in Time" was the best of the genre; this tops it.

The story itself was a sweet time travel. I would love to read more by this author but will avoid the audio version. I didn't care for the whiny voice of the reader. I realize she has won awards but each to his own. That's a shame because I rarely purchase books unless I can also get the audio version. I spend a lot of time in my car so that's the only way I can get through a book in a reasonable amount of time.
I absolutely loved this book!! I don't usually read time-travel and paranormal stuff but this sounded like it would be realistic and it was. Clara didn't know what to make of what happened to her; Jed also was intrigued by this mysterous stranger who showed up in his store in 1941. I loved when he found the iPOD and thought she might be a spy then she showed him what it did. The end was so beautiful I cried when she read the letter from him and played the iPOD I'll be Home for Christmas that Jed loved. Then Drew enters the picture with her Christmas present that Jed didn't give her before she left 1941 to 2006. Timing was perfect; ending was great.
